Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who made her name with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first musical encounter. She performed on the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. In school, she concentrated on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. The focus changed to music only after she finished her studies. After gaining viral fame on the Internet, her My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits like body positive Queef & winking home tour NYC Bitche$1. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was another idea. She opted to pursue acting as a profession after completing her first two projects, as an author and musician. She's appeared in movies like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed major roles in a variety of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, in Fina We Trust in June of that year.
